Not just any monastics, but these people are fleeing the world and living an austere life of solitude and prayer; just like in Egypt of the 400s or Russia of the 1700s.

Yeah, and with someone like Barack Obama, they're gonna get it sooner than they think. :-) -- OK, I admit that was nasty and uncalled for :-| ... but who cares! :D
I think I can already picture how his campaign-slogans while lobby-ing to the Orthodox community there looked like:
